Australian Shepherds sledding? YES! Sledding is a fun activity / sport that any breed can take part in, as long as they not overworked for their size. I knew I would love it once I tried it! A few years ago I took skijoring lessons with my Border Collie Darla. It was fun but I had always wondered what it would be like to get the dogs pulling a sled instead. The first time I did, I was exhilarated. I believe this is a new Extreme Aussies sport! As this sport is very new to me the dogs will be starting in one at a time until the whole crew is involved! Then who knows, fun runs? Competitions? For now, I am just enjoying learning this sport and the thrill of it J

Below are some pictures of me and some of the dogs out sledding for the first time! I have my dogs Crush (Australian Cattle Dog) and Jive (Extreme Mini Aussie) in wheel and a co-owner had her dogs Rock (Extreme Mini Aussie) and her Aussie mix in lead. Let’s hear it for AUSSIES!!! I can’t wait to go out again! The fact that I can go and train my dogs in sledding now makes winter a lot fun for me... now I want it to snow!!! More here as I learn and grow in this new venture!
